Today's pleading over HoR dissolution case begins

Today’s pleading over the writ petition regarding the dissolution of the House of Representatives has begun at the Supreme Court.

Senior advocate Ramesh Guragain on the behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is pleading over the case. Guragain started arguments at the constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and judges Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, and Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai.

Twenty-three law practitioners were scheduled to plead the case on the behalf of the Prime Minister and seven hours had been allocated for the same. Out of seven hours, one hour and 30 minutes remained.

After the conclusion of the pleading from the government side, lawyers from the Speaker's side would begin their pleading. One hour time has been determined for them.

Earlier to this, pleading over the writ petition filed by 146 parliamentarians including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has concluded. A total of 12 hours allocated for writ petitioners for the debate. A total of 36 legal prosecutors on the behalf of writ petitioners had argued over the case.

After the debate of legal prosecutors of the Speaker, writ petitioners would reply and the argument of Amicus Curiae would begin.

Similarly, after the conclusion of the pleading by the Amicus Curiae, a verdict over the case would be made.
