Two more years have been added for exploration and extraction of petroleum products. Time has been extended for ongoing exploration and excavation in Jwala area of ​​the district.

 According to Dr. Ganesh Nath Tripathi, a geologist at the Department of Mines and Geology, the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on March 28, 2022 after the completion of February 28, 2022 for the exploration and excavation of petroleum products has extended the time for two years for exploration and excavation of petroleum products in Dailekh.

 He said that the second phase of petroleum exploration and excavation work would begin as soon as the Chinese team arrives in Nepal. "There has been no direct air service between Nepal and China since the Covid epidemic," Tripathi said. "Now the Chinese team is ready to come to Nepal."

 An agreement was reached between the Government of Nepal and the Geological Survey Company of the Government of China on February 28, 2019 for exploration of petroleum products based on areas including Navisthan, Shristhan, Kotila, Lower Dungeshwor and Paduka, which have been burning on water for centuries.

The project was said to be affected by the corona pandemic, although it was said that the main drilling work would be started after the completion of survey work on 10 seismic lines dug in three east-west and seven north-south directions for petroleum exploration.
