A bilateral meeting was held today between Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is visiting the People's Republic of China, and Wang Xiaohong, Minister of Public Security and Secretariat member of theDeputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Communist party of China.
During the meeting, they discussed Nepal-China relations and various issues of bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha stressed the need to increase cross-border security cooperation to maintain peace and control cross-border criminal activities.
In the meeting, Chinese Public Security Minister Xiaohong expressed his commitment to continuously provide the necessary aid materials to Nepal Police and Armed Police Force for enhancing disaster management capacity. Both leaders praised the opening of 14 border crossings in the Nepal-China border region.
