The Election Commission (EC) has revoked the election schedule for the mid-term elections that it had made public on July 5.
The commission cancelled the election schedule that it had prepared for the mid-term elections that were scheduled to be held in two phases on November 12 and 19 after the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court reinstated the House of Representatives. In fact, the Election Commission had even announced that the electoral period would start from July 15.
The commission had started preparations for the mid-term elections after President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, on the recommendation of the government led by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, had dissolved the House of Representatives and announced the dates for mid-term elections on May 22.
