Dharamshala agreement canceled

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale informed that the agreement with Batas Group regarding Dharamshala in Pashupati area has been canceled. Now the Dharamshala will be vacated by imposing police administration.

In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, he said that Out of 93 properties damaged in Pashupati area, 64 have been reconstructed.

Out of 920 properties all over the country damaged by the earthquake, 583 properties have been reconstructed and it is targeted to rebuild 700 properties within the current fiscal year.

Nowadays tourist arrivals in Nepal have been increasing. Minister Ale has said that tourists arrived in Nepal at an average 50,000 last month. He said that the number of tourists is expected to increase from next September to December.

He said that the government of Nepal has brought a balanced tourist infrastructure plan in all the provinces and a budget has been allocated for improving the Great Himalayan Trail. He said that hill stations and culture trails would be constructed in all the states as well.

After the operation of Bhairahawa airport, the second international airport built in Nepal after seven decades, the pressure of Tribhuvan International Airport has decreased despite being in operation 24 hours a day.

A conference of tourism ministers of BIMSTEC will be held in Nepal with the objective of boosting the growth of tourism in Nepal.

The Tourism Minister informed that Rs 1 billion has been collected from casinos during his tenure. The government is yet to collect Rs 2.88 billion from casinos. He informed that the international airport constructed in Pokhara will be operational within six months. He said that the Pokhara Municipal Corporation has been requested to relocate the dumping site near the airport.
