Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has decided to cancel the agreement for the operation of Nepal-India-friendly Pashupati Dharamsala. At a press conference held at the Ministry on Tuesday, Minister Ale informed that the agreement of the Dharamshala operated by Batas Group has been withdrawn.

Minister Ale said that the agreement with the commercial firm Batas Group for the operation of Dharamshala has been canceled due to the ministerial decision. He said, "We have decided to take back the Dharamshala on the basis of the recommendation made by the investigation committee. The Dharamshala will no longer be operated by the Basat group." The investigation committee formed under the convener of Pashupati Area Development Committee, Narayan Subedi, had submitted a report to Minister Ale with the conclusion that the Dharamshala should be withdrawn saying that it was collusion.

Pashupati Dharamsala came into operation under an agreement between Pashupati Development Fund and Hotel Ananda Prali under Batas Group. It was alleged that the wind group had been operating a hospice as a hotel at a high price in the structure constructed by the fund. After the allegation, Minister Ale had personally visited the hospice. During the monitoring, it was found that the number and rate of beds were changed during the construction of the dharamshala as per the agreement, rent was not paid to the fund, various offices were kept in the dharamshala and various structures were constructed in the dharamshala without the approval of the fund.
