Army mountain clearing team in Annapurna

A team of the Nepalese army, which is engaged in the mountain cleaning campaign, has succeeded in climbing Annapurna's first mountain. According to the directorate of military public relations and information, the army team led by Captain Suman Pandey managed to reach the peak of the world's 10th-highest mountain at 8:55 this morning.

In the team, there are five Sherpa helpers including Pyut Mansingh Chaudhary, Constable Navraj Rana, Constable Gyanendra Dangi, and Chief Guide Chiring Janbu Sherpa. Under the national program of the Government of Nepal, under the leadership of the army, an annual mountain cleaning campaign is being conducted in accordance with the objective of protecting biological diversity and the environment. This year Mt Everest, Lhotse, Varunche, and Annapurna are being cleaned.

A team of 13 people led by Kishore Adhikari, a chief soldier for Everest and Lhotse mountains, has reached the second base camp. The Barunche Himal cleaning team is about to reach the base camp of the mountain. The team is involved in various activities to adapt themselves to the mountain environment to make the mountain cleaning work more effective. This year, the target is to collect about 35 tons of garbage from Mount Everest, Lhotse, Annapurna, and Baruche.
