Police arrested a youth in possession of 2.6 grams of brown sugar from Betkot Municipality-9 in Kanchanpur district on Saturday evening.
The arrested has been identified as Karan Dhami (26) of Sundarpur in the municipality.
Dhami was allegedly consuming the brown sugar in the vacant building of the Agricultural Training Centre in Sundarpur. Sudha-based Area Police nabbed him with the substance.
Likewise, police arrested two men with 2.90 milligrams of brown sugar from Birendranagar Municipality-10 in Surkhet district.
The arrested have been identified as Rajesh Rokaya (36) and Dal Bahadur Kahmcha (22) of Budbude in the municipality.
They were allegedly peddling the brown sugar. Acting on a tip-off, Surkhet-based District Police Office (DPO) nabbed them with the substance. Meanwhile, DPO personnel also apprehended the driver of an autorickshaw with vehicle registration number BHE 1 KA 2821 in possession of 800 milligrams of brown sugar from Hatiya Line.
The arrested has been identified as Bal Krishna Shrestha (35) of Hatiya in Birendranagar Municipality.
Similarly, police in Dang district arrested a youth with 200 grams of marijuana from Lamahi Municipality-7 in Dang district on Saturday evening.
The arrested has been identified as Badal Roka (19) of Bangai in Lamahi Municipality.
Bangai-based Temporary Police Post nabbed Roka with the substance during a routine check.
Meanwhile, a youth was arrested with 70 milligrams of brown sugar on Saturday night from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-8 in Kailali district.
The arrested has been identified as Umesh Lama (19) of Buddha Chowk in the sub-metropolis.
Kailali-based District Police Office nabbed Lama with the substance.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
