Police on Tuesday arrested a youth on charge of stealing two motorcycles from Parsagadhi Municipality-5 on Tuesday.
The arrested has been identified as Azad Miya (22), a local resident of the same municipality in Parsa district.
Miya was riding a motorcycle with vehicle registration number NA 39 PA 3824. Security personnel deployed from the Parsa-based District Police Office nabbed him with the stolen motorcycle during a routine vehicle check. During the checking process, police realised that the handle lock of the motorcycle had been broken. On further questioning, Miya divulged he had stolen the motorcycle belonging to Krishna Sharma, a local resident of Birgunj Metropolitan-28, on Monday night.
Similarly, Miya also revealed he had stolen another motorcycle with vehicle registration number NA 28 PA 1337 belonging to Roj Mohammed, a local resident of Parsagadhi Municipality-5 on June 22. Police recovered the stolen motorcycle while searching Miya's home.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out, said the police.
