A woman died in Chitwan due to coronavirus within 23 hours of the husband passing away due to the contagion.
Bhairav Kayastha and Bijaya Regmi Kayastha, residents of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-3, lost their lives due to COVID-19 within 23 hours. Bhairav passed away at 5 am on Saturday whereas Bijaya lost her life at 4 am today.
Initially, when they tested positive for the coronavirus they were admitted to Pushpanjali Hospital in Bharatpur. However, four days later the couple was transferred to Chitwan Medical College for further treatment. They had been receiving treatment in the ICU of the hospital for the last 18 days.
Both the husband and wife had been suffering from pneumonia.
