CPN (UML) Chairperson and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has demanded that jurisdiction should be given to high-level probe commission to take action against guilty in recent gold scam.

Addressing the first convention of CPN (UML) Bagmati Province Committee, Chairperson Oli urged the government not to make any delay to form the probe commission and not to limit the commission only to recommend for policy-level reforms.

Although an understanding was reached among major political parties to form high-level probe commission to carry out investigation into recent gold scam, there was dispute over jurisdiction of commission.

On the occasion, he directed the cadres to move ahead with a determination to form a strong national force.

The UML Chairperson wished that the convention could elect a matured leadership that can face the upcoming election in 2084 BS by breaking the conspiracy being hatched against the party.

Stating that it was not acceptable to his party to remain in backward party as education, science and technology was started from the Nepali land, he shared that his party was committed to eliminate poverty and backwardness of the country.

Chairperson Oli remembered that he while leading the government had brought Biplav and CK Raut groups in peaceful activities.

He also demanded the government to address the dissatisfaction of teachers in the provision of the School Education Bill.

The closed session of the convention, which has around 1,200 representatives, would be held at Kamaladi-based Nepal Academy on Tuesday.
