Police in Makawanpur district Thursday arrested two persons in possession of 80 kilograms of marijuana in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-19.
The arrested have been identified as Lalit Tamang (43) of Raksirang Rural Municipality-6 and Roshan Pariyar (38) of Chanauli in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-20, Chitwan district.
They were travelling on a Scorpio vehicle (Ba 11 Cha 9509) heading towards Hetauda from Chitwan.
A joint team of security personnel deployed from Makawanpur District Police Office (DPO) and Newarpani-based Area Police Office nabbed them with an illegal drug. The package containing marijuana was hidden at the rear part of the vehicle.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out, informed the DPO.
