Two children of the same family have died due to poisoning in Rautahat. One of the deceased have been identified as Akash, 5, son of Sanjay Mukhiya of Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-5. He died while undergoing treatment.
The children were initially taken for treatment but succumbed to their injuries on the way to Birgunj for further treatment.
Police say the incident is suspicious
The family members have accused the locals of poisoning the two children to death. Police said that they are conducting serious investigation into the incident.
Rautahat District Police Office Superintendent of Police (SP) Binod Ghimire said, "The children have died due to poisoning. As the incident is suspicious, we are investigating and we are seriously investigating who poisoned the children."
