Police in Surkhet district on Monday seized a huge quantity of contraband items including foods in Bheriganga Municipality-5.
Police personnel deployed from Bheriganga checkpoint intercepted the truck (Ka- Pra 02-001 Kha 0314) heading towards Surkhet from Dang and conducted the routine check. When the police personnel found that those items were brought from India by evading the customs tax, they impounded the truck and detained its driver.
Meanwhile, the impounded truck laden with contraband goods worth Rs 888,944 and the driver were handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office, Kohalpur for necessary action, police informed.
