Police arrested three persons in possession of a pistol and bullets in Maharajgunj Municipality of Kapilvastu district, on Wednesday.
The arrestees have been identified as Laxman Yadav (20), 28-year-old Bishwambhar Yadav (28) and Shamshad Ahmad Khan (41), all residents of Aurahawa in Maharajgunj-9.
A team of police personnel deployed from the Kushuhawabadhani-based police post arrested them after confiscating a homemade pistol and three rounds of bullets from their possession during a security check conducted at Aurahawa.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
