Police arrested three people on charge of behaving in an inappropriate manner with security personnel deployed at Golabari from Barju Rural Municipality-1 in Sunsari district on Friday night.
The arrested have been identified as Yubaraj Chaudhary (34), Sunny Chaudhary (33), and Sunny Chaudhary alias Munna (19), all residents of Chimadi in the same rural municipality.
They were allegedly consuming liquor and creating a lot of noise. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Sukrabare-based Police Office reached the place where the incident had occurred and tried to stop them from creating a ruckus. However, the three accused verbally abused the police initially and then tried to physically assault them. The police then apprehended them and also seized a motorcycle with vehicle registration number KO 4 PA 5125 from their possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
