A teacher has been sentenced to imprisonment and fined by the Saptari District Court for sexually abusing a student studying in his own school. A bench of District Judge Pramesh Pokhrel has sentenced Pashupati Kumar Yadav, 40, of Bode Basain Municipality-10 to three months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.
The court has also decided to pay Rs 20,000 as compensation for the sexually abused 14-year-old, said Bharatmani Pokharel, information officer of the court. Another accused teacher Ram Krishna Yadav, 35, of Siraha Lahan Municipality has been cleared. The victim had lodged a complaint at the Area Police Office, Kadarbona, Saptari on June 9, 2018 alleging that the accused had been sexually abusing her for a long time. The Area Police Office, Kadarbona, had arrested Pashupati on June 10 after registering a complaint of child sexual abuse.
The accused Pashupati was released on bail of Rs. Another accused Ram Krishna, who appeared in the court on July 6, 2018 AD, was also released on bail of Rs 65,000.
