The Tanahu District Prison has banned visitors in view of the increased risk of coronavirus with the new variant.
The Prison said that at the moment, inmates and detainees are not allowed to meet anyone else from outside bearing in mind the high risk of infection.
According to the Prison’s officiating Chief Narayan Adhikari, presently there are 266 inmates and detainees in the prison and so far all are safe from the virus. They had implemented the same measure last year too when the infection risk was high, he added.
