It has been suspected that a youth, who returned from Gujarat of India 11 days ago, might have died from coronavirus infection in Doti district on Tuesday night.
Information Officer at the District Police Office, Indra Bahadur Malla, said that the youth of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-1 died in home isolation as he was staying in home isolation after returning from India.
Corona focal person at the District Hospital, Doti, Tej Bahadur Shahi, said, "The brother of the youth had also died from Covid-19 in India on April 17. Though the coronavirus test of the youth was not carried out, it is suspected that he might have died from coronavirus."
He added, "The youth did not come in contact with health workers even after falling sick. We did not carry out coronavirus test of the deceased as per the government's direction of not carrying out coronavirus test after death."
Chief District Officer, Sunil Khanal, shared that they have directed the District Health Office to carry out corona test of his family members and those who came contact with the deceased."
As many as 56 Nepali people, who have returned home from various cities of neighbouring India, back on April 4 have been reported coronavirus positive.
