For the first time, surgery has been performed at Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung using binoculars. A team led by Keshav Acharya, a doctor at the hospital, operated. Dr Acharya said that after the success of the first attempt, he was encouraged to perform the surgery through binoculars.

The health condition of the woman is acceptable, said the hospital. "Surgery using binoculars does not have to cause large wounds in the abdomen," he said, adding that "the patient recovers faster, the risk of wound healing lowered, and the duration is shorter."

A team of Dr Keshav Acharya, Dr Sajin Kunwar, Dr Prajwal Poudel, Dr Ganesh Won and Nurse Sharmila Sharma participated in the operation. "We worked safely, the patient was not at risk," he said. Acharya said, "As it is a new technology, this first attempt has to be risky." He claims that once it has come to full use, it will be useful in both simple and complex surgeries. Patients from Baglung, Parbat, and Myagdi will no longer have to go to Pokhara and Kathmandu because this service has begun at Dhaulagiri Hospital.
