Humla, a remote mountainous district, has been hit hardest by the long Corona disaster. The new academic session of Humla, which starts on March 20 every year, started only on July 20 due to the Corona disaster. Even a month after the start of the new academic session, the schools in the district have not been able to open and even the textbooks have not reached the hands of the students. Students who were confined at home due to fear of spreading corona infection have been facing problems in reading even after one month of the start of the academic session

Textbooks could not come to the district after 18 private publishing houses reduced the transportation cost of textbooks in Humla. The publishing house has reduced the amount of 90 per cent for textbook transportation in the district to 30 per cent. Gyan Bahadur Rokaya of Rokaya Book Store said that textbooks for grades 1 to 5 could not be picked up due to reduced transportation.

He said, "Textbooks from class 5 to class 10 have reached Nepalgunj but have been stopped due to transportation." He said that it will be brought to the district by coordinating in the next one or two days. He has taken the responsibility of bringing textbooks for Simkot, Namkha and Kharpunath villages. There are 58 schools in these three villages and the textbooks are transported to the district by air.

In Kharpunath village municipality, the school could not be run due to fear of corona infection, said Karna Rawal, chairman of the village municipality.

Complaints have started coming that textbooks have not reached any school in the district. Manisha Rawat, a student of Balmandir Secondary School, complained that her school was closed due to a long-term corona infection. Rawatak said that even if the school was not operational if the textbooks were brought on time, one could study at home. Rawat said that they did not receive the textbooks on time due to the negligence of the agent in charge of transporting the textbooks.
