Six people died in a bus accident in Palpa last night. Their lives were lost when the bus coming from Saljhandi towards Khursane met with an accident on the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section of Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-8 Tadi.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Thapa informed that among those who died in the accident are 36-year-old Nirmala Ghimire of Rainadevichhahara-8, Nirmala's 11-year-old daughter Sarumaya, 54-year-old Khimkumari Rana, 40-year-old Gunakumari Gaha, 21-year-old Dankumari Khatri and 19-year-old Bima Pandey. It is said that the accident occured at around 10:30 last night.
The bus fell down about 100 meters from the road. Eighteen passengers were injured in the accident. Out of the injured, six people are being treated at Adamuncity Hospital, Jitgarhi, Butwal and 12 people are being treated at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal. The police have arrested the driver and are investigating the accident.
