SEE commences peacefully throughout the country

This year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE) conducted by National Examinations Board has commenced peacefully at 2,064 examination centres across the country from today. It will conclude on April 9.

The examination runs from 8 am to 11 am. The examinees appeared in the English paper today.

NEB Chairperson Prof Dr Mahashram Sharma has called upon all stakeholders to make SEE systematic, decent, fair, fear-free and peaceful.

Altogether 504,414 students from 10,806 schools are appearing in the exam. Among the aspiring examinees, 250,772 are female and 253,627 were male and 15 were sexual and gender minorities, informed Nandalal Poudel, SEE Exam Controller at the Board.

Among the examinees, 15,749 from 506 schools are taking the SEE towards the technical stream.

Altogether 2,064 exam centres have been set up for the exam with the highest in Kathmandu at 127 and lowest in Manang and Mustang district at one each, said Exam Controller Poudel.

Meanwhile, one exam centre has been set up at the Everest School in Japan where 23 students, including 15 girls and eight boys, are sitting for the exam, he added. A total of 77,485 human resources will be mobilized directly to conduct the exam smoothly, the Board said.
