A dead rhino was found about 300 meters north of the Riu Khola bridge in Madi Municipality's Ward No. 1 Bankatta.
According to Chitwan National Park Information Officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, a 29-year-old male rhino was found dead at around 7 this morning. However, the hooves and the horn were not severed off, according to the park officials.
33 rhinos have died in Chitwan National Park in the current fiscal year. Two of them are suspected to have been killed by poachers, while others died of natural causes, Tiwari said.
