A meeting of the Bagmati Chief Minister and Council of Ministers decided to grant public holiday on the occasion of Sonam Losar and Nwagi festival.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Krishna Prasad Sharma Khanal informed that it has been decided to grant public leave on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar, a special festival celebrated by the Tamang community and Nwagi, the main festival celebrated by the Chepang community.
According to him, it has been decided to give public leave in all the 13 districts of the state in Lhosar and Makwanpur, Chitwan and Dhading districts where the Chepang community resides for Nwagi. Similarly, Bagmati Municipality, Raksirang Municipality, and Bakaiya Municipality of Makwanpur have also issued notices stating that public holiday will be given on the occasion of Lhosar.
