President Bidhyadevi Bhandari has paid a heartfelt tribute to the crew members and passengers who lost their lives in the Tara Air plane crash on May 29.
President Bhandari expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the victims in a tweet today. President Bhandari also drew the attention of the concerned bodies for institutional and technical reforms to ensure safe air travel.
The Tara Air flight, which had been out of contact since Sunday morning on its way to Jomsom from Pokhara, was found in a damaged condition at Patke Lake Sanosora in Thasang Gaonpalika-2 of Mustang this morning. Tara Air's 9 NAET flight carrying three crew members and 19 passengers from Pokhara to Jomsom at 9:55 a.m. lost contact with the Jomsom airport tower at 10:07 a.m. on Sunday.
All the passengers are considered to have perished in the incident.
