PM Deuba extends greetings to Indian PM, people on 75th Independence Day

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has offered congratulations and extended greetings to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of India. 



PM Deuba wrote on Twitter, "On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of #India, Congratulations and greetings to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the Government and people of India. Best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity.

In India, Independence Day is celebrated annually on August 15 that marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. The day also marks the anniversary of the partition of the subcontinent into two countries, India and Pakistan, which occurred at midnight on August 14–15, 1947. 

In Pakistan, Independence Day is celebrated on August 14.
