The Nepali Congress has expressed dissatisfaction towards the government’s silence even after the concerned side raised questions over the independence of three cancer hospitals established as per the concept of 'cancer authority' brought by the NC in the budget.

Saying it was necessary to make study, research and treatment of cancer more systematic, encourage and promote it by the state, the NC said that the established health academy is the reliable basis for the same.

There are some cancer hospitals established and developed in the country with national and foreign assistance under NC’s policy and leadership after 2046 BS.

A press release issued today by NC Spokesperson, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, reads that it was the responsibility of the state to expand its capacity as per the time and facilitate innovative research, adding the plan to encourage and empower competent institutions for study and research would be appropriate.

Stating that conclusion of appropriate alternative should be made only after deep study, consultation with experts and bodies concerned regarding bringing the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, Bhaktapur, the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Bharatpur, and Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital, Banke, under the corporation, the NC urged the government to keep this sensitive issue status quo for now.
