Police arrested a man with an automatic pistol from Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan-19 in Banke district on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrested has been identified as Ajij Ahmed Sesh (31), a local resident of Puraina in the same sub-metropolitan city-12.
Sesh was riding a bicycle towards Ranjha from Puraina when he was caught. Acting on a tip-off, District Police Office (DPO) personnel, Banke nabbed him with the pistol during a routine check.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said DPO, Banke.
Meanwhile, a youth was arrested in possession of a muzzleloader gun from Dangisharan Rural Municipality-2 in Dang district on Wednesday night.
The arrested has been identified as Meghraj Pun (24), a local resident of the same rural municipality.
Goltakuri based Area Police Office personnel nabbed Pun while he was hunting in the Tilkanya Community Forest. The police also seized the gun from him.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out, said the police.
