Jhapa police on Friday apprehended a man on charge of raping a 12-year-old minor from Kankai Municipality-3.
The accused has been identified as Abhichandra Mainali (46), a local resident of the same municipality in Milan Chowk in the district.
Mainali allegedly raped the child on May 29 when the minor was watching TV in a neighbour's house. Acting on a tip-off, Anarmani-based Area Police Office security personnel nabbed him.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
