Lumbini Province Chief Amik Sherchan has urged the provincial government to give priority to the activities uplifting the living standards of the people in the villages and remote areas.
Assuming the office at the Office of the Province Chief today, Sherchan said that economic prosperity could be achieved only if the living standard of the poor people is raised.
He shared that the federal system with inclusive and proportional provisions is exemplary for the international community, mentioning that the system should be implemented properly.
The Province Chief opined, "An environment to interpret the constitution as per own interest should not be created. We are not allowed to go beyond the rights specified in the constitution."
