Landslides triggered by torrential rains have disrupted vehicular movement along 23 roads across the country in two days. The incessant rainfall has triggered floods and landslides bringing the halt of vehicular movement.

Fourteen roads are completely disrupted while one-way traffic has been resumed along 49 other roads.

Along the East-West Highway, the landslides obstructed the road at Thumsi and Pitauji while the Dumre-Besishahar-Chame road has been damaged by landslides.

Deputy Director General at Department of Road, Bhimarjun Adhikari, informed that Sattighat-Karnali Bridge area was obstructed along the postal highway.

Other road sections obstructed by the landslips are Thori-Bharatpur-Muglin; Ambukhaireni-Gorkha-Ghyampesal; and Arughat-Sirdibas-Roila.

However, the national roadways obstructed at several places have been opened for one-way transportation. The Araniko highway obstructed at Kodari is yet to be opened, according to the Department.
