Kavita Sunuwar, 15, of Buddhachowk in Belka Municipality-3 was found murdered and dumped on the bank of Jashoda River on Tuesday morning. Those involved in the murder have been arrested and made public by the District Police Office on Wednesday.

The District Police Office has arrested and confirmed the involvement of Sarita Dhakal Khatri, 17, of Belka-3, and her cousin 19-year-old Binod Dhakal of Sikkim, India in the murder of Sunuwar.

Kavita, who is studying in class 10 at Koshi Janata High School, went to school at 4 am on Tuesday to prepare for SEE but did not even reach the school.

Chief of the District Police Office, Subash Bohara, said that the police arrested Sarita and Binod during the immediate investigation. Binod was made public by the police at the District Police Office on Tuesday.

According to the police, both Kavita and Sarita have been studying in class 10 at Koshi Janata Secondary School, Belka.

The police informed that there was some conflict between Kavita and Sarita and Kavita was talking badly to Sarita. As Sarita could not bear it, she planned to kill Kavita with the help of her cousin Binod Dhakal.

On Tuesday morning, Sarita sent an SMS to Kavita informing her to go to tuition while Sarita went to the forest with her brother Binod, police said.

When the two girls met on the way, Binod approached the two from behind with a beer bottle in hand and attacked Kavita and she fell unconscious on the ground. According to police, Sarita and Binod then brought some stones from the nearby Jashoda River and hit Kavita on the head and face which caused Kavita's death.

According to the District Court's order, Binod is in Police custody. They are preparing to file a case in the district court through the District Public Prosecutor's Office on the charge of Kavita's murder.
