The ruling coalition is trying to secure the seat it won and other parties are trying to dismiss the municipal leadership. The ruling coalition has not been able to resolve internal disputes. Despite the decision to go to the polls by coordinating the alliance from the center and the states, the parties at the local level have their own demands and positions. As a result, the coalition parties are trying to resolve the issue at the local level.
The Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center and the CPN-Unified Socialists have already started the election campaign by selecting candidates from their respective parties. With just 23 days to go before the election, the leaders of the ruling coalition parties have started expressing their dissatisfaction on social media after failing to reach an agreement on local level distribution. Even though the leaders of the parties affiliated to the ruling coalition have met three times to discuss the issue, no agreement has been reached on who will be the candidate at which local level.

CPN (Maoist Center) District Coordinator Resham Jugjali has warned on social media that the UCPN (Maoist) will not be supportive to make the Congress big by defeating the UML. The district parties affiliated to the alliance are Congress, Maoists, Unified Socialists, Federal Socialists and Rastriya Janamorcha. One of the leaders said that a crisis had arisen in the alliance after the Nepali Congress refused to release the Malika village Maoists. The Nepali Congress has taken a stand that the Maoists cannot be left behind under any circumstances.
The UCPN (M) is in the position that its party should get the ownership anyway as the district coordinator of the UCPN (M) has come forward as the candidate. Congress, on the other hand, is said to be ready to give Mangala and Dhaulagiri villages to the Maoists. Similarly, the CPN-U has also demanded for a local level chief in the district.
The Nepali Congress has started the election campaign by fielding Chiranjeevi Poudel as the chief candidate in Beni Municipality and the current chairperson Shriprasad Roka as its candidate in Malika village. Similarly, Birendra Budhathoki has been made the candidate for the post of chairman in Mangala village municipality. In Dhawanlagiri, Raghuganga and Annapurna, the Nepali Congress has not been able to select a candidate for the post.
