The Supreme Court has dismissed the service charges charged by hotels, restaurants and other service providers as invalid. The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court has declared the Labor Act, which was made to charge service charges, to be invalid and null and void according to the Constitution.
The Constitutional Bench has declared the service charge taken by service providers such as hotels, restaurants, motels, travel agencies as illegal and issued a mandate to remove such arrangements immediately.
