The service of the hospital has started to be affected as the infection of the corona has increased among the doctors and health workers working in the hospitals and health institutions. Bharatpur Hospital has stopped GOPD and regular surgery services from today.

As of Friday, 77 health workers and staff including 11 doctors have been infected in the hospital. According to the medical superintendent of the hospital, Prof. Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, the service has been stopped for the time being as the doctor who sees the GOPD has to see the patients of Covid. The hospital had operated GOPD from 8.30 am to reduce the pressure on outpatient services.

The long wait for patients to come to the hospital quickly was also removed. Similarly, the surgery of the patient who can be operated on later is also stopped immediately. According to Poudel, this will not cause any problems to the patients. According to the hospital's information officer Gopal Poudel, many untrained doctors, health workers, and staff have also shown signs of infection.

This number is increasing daily. He said that other departments also had manpower problems but they were managed one by one. A large number of doctors and health workers at the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital have also been affected by the corona.

According to the executive director of the hospital, Dr. Dej Kumar Gautam, 136 health workers including nine doctors and 66 staff nurses have been infected. He said that the service could not be resumed as before even though the service was not stopped due to infection of many doctors and health workers in the hospital.

Chief of the health office, Deepak Tiwari, said that the rate of infection among the doctors and health workers working in the health institutions was increasing and the vaccination service could be affected. He said that the number of infections has increased and there is a shortage of manpower to work in the vaccine along with regular services.

Dr. Bhoj Raj Adhikari, chairman of the Bharatpur Hospital Development Committee, says that if the number of infected people continues to rise, the health workers will have to treat the infected patients. He said, "If everyone is infected, those who can afford it must be treated."

Chairman and Managing Director of Chitwan Medical College Prof Dr Harish Chandra Neupane said that half of the doctors and health workers of the hospital have been infected. He said, "Physicians and health workers are working with common symptoms. If tested, they may also show infection." He said that if there is such a situation, there is no alternative for treating the infected.

Neupane says that they are confident that the situation will not get worse as they have recovered in a short time. The number of infected people in the district has reached 2,736. Of them, 47 are undergoing treatment at the hospital while the rest are in isolation at home.
