The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) expressed grief over the death of the Law Minister in Sudurpaschim Province, Prithvi Bahadur Singh, and put off the meeting on Tuesday.

Province Minister Singh, his spouse Amrita Singh and sister in-law Jaya Devi Singh were killed in a road accident that occurred at Bagthala of Bajhang district on Tuesday afternoon.

The HoR meeting was holding deliberation on the appropriation bill, 2080 under the headings of finance, drinking water, labour and employment.

With the information received on Singh's demise, the meeting expressed grief and postponed the deliberation.

The deliberation will continue today.

Earlier, in the meeting, Balram Adhikari blamed that the budget was allocated based on influence. In the constituencies of those exerting influence, the budget was allocated for multiple projects, he added.

Similarly, Ram Krishna Yadav shared the plight that the Tarai district folks were bound to drink arsenic laced water, so clean drinking water should be ensured to the Tarai people. He drew the government's attention towards depleting water sources posing a risk of water scarcity.

Raj Kumar Gupta reiterated that the ground water table was receding in Madhes Province, which is a serious issue.

The citizenship bill should also be finalized soon, he demanded.
