Home Minister urges for Teej celebrations with enthusiasm

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has stressed the need of liberating the Teej festival from patriarchal dominance and celebrating it as a cultural event with enthusiasm.

In his address to a programme organised at the Ministry of Home Affairs on the occasion of the upcoming Teej Festival, the Deputy Prime Minister said oriental civilization has various aspects capable of driving human life towards positivity. He extended his best wishes to the entire women employees on the occasion of the festival.

The festival has now been established as a social-cultural event, the DPM said, urging all not to make celebrations extravagant.
