High priority to control dengue in Tanahun

 After dengue infection started to increase, the local level has given high priority for control and prevention in Tanahun. As the number of dengue infections started to increase, the local levels here have come together to control it.

Byas Municipality, located at the headquarters, has started a 'Find and Destroy' campaign to control dengue from Saturday. Vaikunth Neupane, the head of Beas Municipality, informed that the risk of dengue has increased again after the infection of Covid-19, so it is the responsibility of the local government to control it. "The covid infection is gradually ending, dengue has started to cause trouble again," he said, "the local government is committed to solving every disaster."

Pramod Soti, head of the health department of the municipality, informed that the places where mosquitoes breed will be searched and destroyed to control dengue. "We have started a campaign to destroy possible places where mosquitoes can breed, such as stagnant water, tires," he said.

It is said that people's representatives, health workers, organizations and teachers will be mobilized in the campaign started with the slogan "All wake up, all start: remove stagnant water around and drive away dengue". Byas Municipality has provided awareness by throwing the accumulated water on the tires kept in the motorcycle workshop.

Ambukhaireni rural municipality has also started a 'search and destroy' campaign to prevent dengue. Agamraj Upadhyay, head of the health department, informed that the rural municipality has started this campaign for vigilance due to the increasing dengue infection.

Regarding the management and control of dengue, the Ministry of Health and Population has made a response plan and instructed to conduct various activities, the rural municipality has started a campaign to destroy mosquito larvae in coordination with the province and district.

"The best way to prevent dengue is to avoid mosquito bites, this disease is caused by the bites of Aedes mosquitoes which are active during the day," he said.

Likewise, every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. for 10 minutes, a campaign has been conducted to find and destroy mosquito breeding places inside and outside the house. Health workers, women community health volunteers, teachers, journalists, organizations, village development committees have been mobilized for the implementation of this campaign.

88 infected with dengue.

The number of people infected with dengue in Tanahun has reached 88. According to the tests conducted at Damauli Hospital at the headquarters, Bandipur Hospital and GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Center at Shuklagandaki, 88 people have been diagnosed with dengue.

According to the health office, dengue has been confirmed in three people in Damauli Hospital, seven in Bandipur Hospital and 78 in GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Center.

Among the confirmed dengue patients, one of the three people admitted to Damauli Hospital and treated has returned home after treatment. Raju Rana informed.

Seven people were admitted to Bandipur Hospital and treated, four returned home after treatment. Out of 78 people diagnosed with dengue, 27 were admitted and treated at GP Koirala respiratory treatment center. The executive director of the center, Dr. Ramkumar Shrestha informed.

The health office lacks kits for dengue testing. The chief officer of the Health Office Tanahun said that it was easy because the local level and the hospital bought the kits and conducted the tests. "There is no kit in the health office, the municipality has managed it, so testing has become easier," said the official.

Doctors say that it is necessary to avoid mosquito bites because dengue is caused by mosquito bites. The disease is transmitted by the bite of a mosquito infected with the dengue virus. Nowadays dengue fever is appearing in different parts of Nepal. This mosquito bites especially in the afternoon and the outbreak of dengue fever starts to increase after the onset of rainy season.

Sudden onset of fever for 3 to 5 days is the main symptom of this disease. This fever can last for 5 to 7 days. In addition to this, severe headache, eyeball pain, body aches, loss of appetite, severe joint and muscle pain, stomach and intestinal disturbances are also symptoms of dengue, acting head of Damauli Hospital, Dr. Rana said.

To avoid dengue, you should avoid mosquito bites. The main ways to avoid this are to wear clothes that cover the whole body, use ointments to avoid mosquito bites, always sleep in a hammock at night and during the day, and pay attention to avoid mosquito bites when working in the fields around the house.

Resham Lal Poudel has been elected as the vice-chairman of the committee, Lal Bahadur Shrestha as the secretary, Sujan Kumar Shrestha as the treasurer and Narayana Dutt Adhikari as the joint secretary.

Samundra Ram Shrestha, Ram Kumar Shrestha, Umakant Shrestha, Purna Bahadur Thapa, Yam Bahadur Khan, Rajeshwar Khanal, Sundar Basyal and Balram Mishra have been selected as members. Through the convention, an audit committee has been formed under the coordination of Gayatri Prasad Paudel with Hum Bahadur Khadka, Madhav Prasad Adhikari, Suraj Kumar Shrestha and Kul Prasad Gurung as members.

Prof. Dr., who has been the president since the establishment of the radio, held the tenure. It has also decided to keep Chandra Bahadur Thapa as a guardian.
