During the fifth conference of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) held in Bonn, Germany, the World Future Council in Bonn awarded the Future Policy Award 2023 to Nepal. Being the first Asian country to ban the use of Dental Amalgam in children under fifteen years, pregnant and disabled women. The Council said that the award was given to Nepal.
The Council invited Health and Population Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet to accept the Award, but the Minister was unable to attend the program due to his busy schedule, as per instructions received from the Minister to accept the Award, Ramkaji Khadka, Ambassador of Nepal to Germany, accepted the Future Policy Award.
