Five people have been killed in a jeep accident at Waling-12 Dandankharka Phirphire in Syangja district. The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 7399) coming from Waling Municipality-12 Dandankharka to Baitari met with an accident today.
The deceased have been identified as Bir Bahadur Dala, 65, of Dandankharka, Waling-12, Hira Dala, 45, of the same place, Sharmila Saru, 25, six-month-old son of Sharmila Saru and Kul Kumari Kanauje, 61, of Waling-14, said District Police Office Spokesperson Padma Raj Thapa.
Six of the 11 occupants of the jeep were injured. The injured have been identified as Ang Bahadur Dala, 50, of Waling-12 Dandankharka, Mayakumari Saru, 55, Yogendra Thapa, 35, Navina Saru, 18, Laxmi Dala, 19, and jeep driver Dal Bahadur Thapa, 60.
The injured have been shifted to Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara for further treatment. The jeep fell about 200 meters from the road. All the injured and dead were from the same village, where villagers are now mourning their loss.
