Police in Morang district on Friday night arrested two men in possession of 10 grams of brown heroin from Sikti in Sunwarsi Municipality-8.
The arrestees have been identified as Sirjan Shrestha (29) and Daam Bahadur Bhujel (47), both residents of Sundarharaicha Municipality-9 in the district.
Security personnel at Sikti-based police check post frisked the duo riding on the motorcycle (State 1-02-041 PA 254) and detained them after finding the substance like narcotic. .
Similarly, police in Bara on Saturday morning arrested a youth in possession of 232 bottles of Onarex syrup in Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-7.
The arrestee has been identified as Shahrukh Miya, a 21-year-old resident of Birgunj Metropolis-17 in Parsa district.
He was illegally transporting the pharmaceutical drugs on the motorcycle with an Indian registration number (BR 22 D 4144). Initially, security personnel deployed from Jitpur-based Area Police Office had tried to stop the motorcycle. However, Miya fled the scene. Subsequently, police chased him and detained him from Care Vision Boarding School where he had been hiding, according to police.
Likewise, police in Kanchanpur district on Saturday morning arrested three persons in possession of 6gm of Hashish from Jhilmila in Bheemdatt Municipality-9.
One of the arrestees has been identified as Prakash Bhatt (21) of Bedkot Municipality-2 while the identification of two others has not been disclosed.
Security personnel deployed from the Brahmadev-based border police post arrested them with the illegal drug during a routine check.at Jhilmila Road.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
