Fifty families displaced in Parbat

Due to the floods and landslides caused by the continuous rains in various parts of Parbat district around 50 families have been displaced. The police, meanwhile, is collecting information on the damages and destruction caused by the floods and landslides across Parbat.

Eighteen families in Lasti and Pharsey of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 have been displaced due to the landslides caused by the heavy rains. As the area above these two sites had been witnessing landslides the families have been shifted to a safer location. Similarly, two families in Ward No. 7 of Dhairing have been displaced as per the rural municipality.

Likewise, eight families in Mahashila Rural Municipality-8 have also been displaced. According to Spokesperson of the rural municipality, Jeevan Thakuri, the families have been shifted to the Laxmidaya Basic School.

Meanwhile, other families in various locations of Parbat district have been displaced. The police are gathering information about the families.

The floods and landslides have also obstructed many roads in the district. The local levels have also informed that agricultural land has also been damaged due to the landslides. The District Police Office informed that though there have been damages in many areas no incident of any person losing their life has been reported.
