The Nepal Civil Servants Union (NCSU) has drawn attention to the attack on Dattaram Awasthi, secretary of Chirwithad village municipality-8 of Bajhang.
In a statement issued here today, the union's deputy general secretary Durga Prasad Phuyal said that the illegally demanded donations were not given to the party secretary Awasthi and others.
The union called on the government to take legal action against the culprits, saying it was unfortunate that social workers were mistreated socially for faith and other personal reasons. The union has also drawn the attention of the government to protect the livelihood of the public servants by maintaining a fair, neutral, fear-free, and independent working environment.
