Sample voting was held today in Saptari for the elections of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly. In order to reduce invalid votes and make voter education effective, the supporting society has informed that sample voting has been conducted.
Simran Sherchan, program coordinator of the Federation of Sexual and Gender Minorities Nepal, said that the program was held as part of sample voting and literacy programs in various districts.
In the sample voting, they were taught how to line up women, men, disabled and elderly, obtain voter ID cards, obtain the signature of the polling officer, and go to a secret place to vote for the candidate, fold the ballot paper and drop the vote in the ballot box.
Vivek Vick of Kanchanpur Municipality-5 informed that he has learned that he has to vote on one election symbol in four ballots, with separate ballots of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly for the first elected and separate ballots of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly for proportional representation.
Facilitator Savin Budhathoki gave training on the formation of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly, importance of voting, nomination, voting and counting process, sadar and bad votes.
