An octogenarian woman died in fire at Isma Rural Municiaplity-1 in Gulmi district. Pabitra Khatri, 83, from Hastichaur Maldi of Isma Rural Municipality who was burnt in fire died while being taken to hospital, according to Chief District Officer, Sagarmani Pathak.
Neighbour Jang Khatri informed that the fire caught the woman's clothes as she was warming herself beside fire.
Chairman of Isma-1, Sher Bahadur Khatri, said the senior woman died on the way to Palpa based hospital from Gulmi.
After the Palpa Hospital declared the death of the injured Khatri, preparations were on to perform the last rites of the departed one at Ridi, Ward Chairman Khatri added.
