Deputy Speaker Indira Rana has said State's investment on children must not be reduced. Addressing a programme organized on the 21st anniversary of Children Zone of Peace Campaign (CZOP) here Sunday, Deputy Speaker Rana expressed worry over curtailment of budget for the National Children Welfare Council.
According to her, government and non-government sectors' collaboration was essential on rescue, relief and rehabilitation of street children, end of child marriage and guarantee of education and nutrition to children.
On the occasion, Deputy Speaker Rana released a book 'CZOP in Two Decades'.
Similarly, Council member secretary Indra Devi Dhakal said they were effortful for the protection of child rights despite resource constraints.
Former member of the National Human Rights Commission, Gauri Pradhan, urged all concerned to launch campaign of child rights in a sustainable manner rather than being based on project.
CZOP Chairman Rajesh Sharma viewed the association would take ahead the campaign for advocacy and policy reform in the sector of child rights.
