Civil society leaders have called to end child marriage and the practice of chhaupadi in Karnali. At an interaction program organized by National Cooperative Federation of Nepal, in Jumla on Monday, political analyst Dr Surendra and Dr KC said that it was necessary to conduct awareness programs for building a child marriage-free Karnali. They also talked about chhaupadi system and how it is affecting the women there.
Speaking on the occasion, historian Dr Ramesh Dhungel said that it was necessary to preserve the rich culture of the then subordinate Karnali Khas state.
