Darchula flood update: One dead, seven injured

One person was killed while seven are missing in floods and landslides caused by incessant rains in Darchula last night. 

According to Assistant Chief District Officer Hemanti Saud, the body of one person who went missing due to the flood in the Lasku River, located in Mahakali Municipality-4, has been found. He has not been identified. Seven others are missing. Mahakali River and Lasku River were flooded after 2 am last night. Saud said that some houses around the river were also washed away.

Similarly, two people have gone missing after being buried in landslides in Naugad Rural Municipality. 11 houses around the river have been washed away. Seven people were injured. Assistant Prazia Saud informed that the condition of three of the injured is critical. The exact details of the financial loss in the incident are yet to come. 

Teams of Nepal Police, Armed Police, and Nepali Army deployed at the scene are searching and rescuing the missing persons.
