Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives in Karnali Province, Bhim Prakash Sharma, has said the cooperatives campaign was foundation of prosperity in province. For the economic prosperity of the country, cooperatives' role is significant.

Minister Sharma viewed it while addressing the 27th Annual General Meeting of Sana Kisan Cooperatives Ltd at Uttarganga, Surkhet of Birendranagar-3 on Monday. He informed that province government is devoted to social justice and economic prosperity via cooperatives.

Farmers, workers, poor people, women and minority groups' access to cooperatives has increased, he said, adding that cooperatives involved in agriculture would be promoted. Linking cooperatives to agriculture creates jobs and boosts production.

He also reminded the cooperatives to share clear information to the farmers on their financial status as loan, and interest rate.

Minister Sharma also reminded that the farmers and other depositors were complaining about the embezzlement of their share in cooperative sector, so loan mobilization and utilization of share must be clear and transparent.

On the occasion, the Minister vowed to bring and enforce a law on monitoring and regulating small farmers in province. He also shared information that province government had allocated Rs 4 million for marketplace management so that marketing of products would be eased.

He urged all farmers to engage in both seasonal and off-seasonal vegetables.
